Terms of Service

Last updated 15 July 2026.

Who you're contracting with

Milot Shabani, an individual operator (Kleingewerbe under German law, not a registered company), Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Straße 8, 59065 Hamm, Germany. See the Impressum for full legal disclosure.

What the service is

Home Inventory Scanner lets you film a walkthrough of your home (or upload photos), and uses AI to identify items, estimate their value, and generate an inventory report. A free tier covers a limited amount of AI analysis; full scan sessions and top-ups are paid per session, not a subscription — see Pricing for current amounts. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details directly.

AI estimates are not a professional appraisal

Item identification, valuation, and depreciation figures are AI-generated estimates — useful for building a record of what you own, but not a substitute for a licensed appraiser, and not a guarantee of what any insurer will actually pay on a claim. You're responsible for reviewing what the AI produces before relying on it, and for correcting anything that's wrong before submitting it anywhere official.

Your right to withdraw (EU/EEA consumers)

As an EU consumer, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a paid digital service with no reason given. Because AI analysis begins immediately on payment (there's no way to "un-analyze" your walkthrough once it's started), you're asked to explicitly acknowledge losing this right for that specific scan session before checkout — see the checkbox shown at that point in the flow. This doesn't affect your separate right to a refund if the service genuinely fails to work as described.

Acceptable use

The service is for documenting belongings you have a legitimate reason to film — your own home, or a property you manage with the owner's knowledge. Don't use it to process footage you don't have the right to capture, attempt to circumvent the frame/analysis budget, share or resell API keys, or use the API in a way that could reasonably overload the service. Accounts used this way may be suspended or terminated.

Your data and account

What's collected, how it's used, and how to delete it is covered in full in the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Account settings — this is a real, immediate deletion (see the Privacy Policy for exactly what's removed), not a soft-delete or a support ticket you have to wait on.

Liability

The service is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by German law, liability for ordinary negligence is limited to foreseeable damages typical for a service like this; liability for intent, gross negligence, and injury to life, body, or health is not limited or excluded, as German law doesn't permit that regardless of what any contract says. Nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that meaningfully affects you, you'll be notified (the same way product updates are announced — see Changelog) before the change takes effect for existing accounts.

Governing law

These terms are governed by German law. If you're a consumer, this doesn't deprive you of any protection granted by the mandatory law of the country you're resident in.
